Year 13's - Want better bibliographies, want better marks???
Some of you are thinking about going to University next year, you must start preparing yourself now. One skill you need to master is web evaluation, luckily you can start learning it right here.
There are lots of different criteria you can use to evaluate the validity of a website. However, as you will see above we have created a powerpoint presentation for you about a set of criteria called the CRAAP Test. Click the play button and click through the slides at your own pace. When you read each slide think about how you would apply it to a recent website you have used or you can evaluate the following three websites.
http://www.health.govt.nz/
http://zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/
http://petsorfood.com/
If you would like to check how you did with your evaluations have a chat to Mrs Y.
We would also appreciate any comments about how useful you found the CRAAP Test - Good Luck.

Our library collection is
large and spans all school years. The collection of 25,000 items includes
e-books, playaways and 26 magazine titles.
Electronic library resources include 35 Kobo e-readers, 25 Ipads and a
suite of 28 computers. The Library is
well staffed during the school day with a full-time teacher librarian and two
full-time librarians.
We are a fairly unique
library as we also extend our services to the community. The library is open to the public from 11.00
am to 6.00 pm weekdays and 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on Saturday’s. Each weekday between 3.30 pm and 6.00 pm

from our collection as well as the use of the internet and computers.
